Xiao Wei has assisted in representing clients in disputes relating to both wet and dry shipping matters, which includes, collisions, charterparty disputes, and sale and carriage of goods.

Beyond her experiences in representing clients in the Singapore Courts, Xiao Wei has also assisted in advising and representing parties in International Arbitrations under the LMAA and SCMA rules, as well as mediation at the SMC.

Xiao Wei also has experience in advising and representing clients in commercial disputes relating to oppression of minority shareholders, joint venture dispute, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and misrepresentation.

Xiao Wei believes strongly in giving back to society. She is a volunteer lawyer with CLAS and a junior assisting counsel with LASCO.

• Assisted in a Singapore proceeding involving the breach of several contracts for the sale of coal between an Indonesian coal supplier and a Korean company.
• Assisted in a London Arbitration relating to a charterparty dispute for a shipment of PX cargo.
• Assisted in advising a Chinese coal shipping company in a dispute against shipowners for a claim for demurrage and “reasonable remuneration” as a result of a trade dispute between Australia and China.
• Assisted in acting for ship managers in establishing a Limitation Fund in Singapore arising from an incident which related to the damage caused to a submarine cable belonging to a Maltese company.
• Assisted in several ship arrests in Singapore.
