Prior to reading law at the University of Leicester, Siddharth obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore.
Siddharth started off his legal practice at a boutique intellectual property law firm & was involved in patent and trademark litigation at the courts as well as contentious actions at the IPOS level.
Since the move to shipping and admiralty law, he has been and is currently involved in multiple arbitration references (Ad-hoc, SIAC, LMMA and HKMA) and Commercial Litigation arising out of ship-management, ship-building and vessel-sharing agreements as well as agreements to supply goods or to provide offshore geotechnical services, as well as disputes arising from charterparties and/or bills of lading, in relation to off-hire, dead-freight and demurrage.
Siddharth also advises in relation to a wide range of matters including, but not limited to, claims for off-hire and bunkers remaining-on-board (have advised and acted for owners as well as charterers), claims for freight and demurrage, claims arising from accidents at ports, indemnity claims, claims arising under P&I and H&M policies as well as claims arising under marine employment contracts/CBA agreements.
