Felicia is an experienced advocate who specialises in both local and cross-border litigation and arbitration, with a particular focus in commercial, employment and insolvency disputes.

Felicia regularly represents various financial institutions, companies and shareholders, statutory boards and academic institutions in various disputes at all levels of the Singapore court system. She also deals with most of the major international arbitral institutions and rules including ICC, SIAC, CIETAC and others.

Qualified in Singapore and leading Incisive’s China Group, she represents local and foreign clients across different industry sectors on a full range of legal issues and high-level cases such as: commercial disputes; insolvency; shareholders’ disputes (minority oppression, breach of shareholders’ agreements and breach of fiduciary duties); breach of commodities trade agreements; infrastructure, property and construction disputes; judicial review matters; employment disputes, and regulatory and compliance issues.

Felicia is also highly regarded for the practical and insightful advice she renders to clients on non-contentious and/or transactional matters, and being able to put her considerable dispute resolution experience and former in-house counsel days to good use. She is often instructed to assist with negotiations in contracts and to formulate dispute/risk mitigation strategies.

Over the years, Felicia has also been a regular pro bono volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme and various legal clinics such as the Community Legal Clinics and Migrant Workers’ Legal Clinic.

Highlight matters include:

  • Represented the Law Society of Singapore in disciplinary proceedings brought against a conveyancing lawyer before the Court of Three Judges culminating in the lawyer’s suspension from practice.
  • Represented local businessman in shareholder dispute involving claims of breach of shareholders’ agreement over a company whose main asset is its F&B business at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
  • Defended local university against claim for defamation and other employment claims.
  • Defended statutory board against judicial review application at both the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal levels.
  • Defended statutory board against injunction, breach of lease agreement and misrepresentation claims where the claimed damage was approximately SGD one billion.
  • Defended a statutory board against a reputable international contractor’s complex multi-million dollar arbitration claims for liquidated damages, unforeseen physical conditions and other variation costs in relation to several infrastructure contracts.
  • Defended one of Singapore’s leading power generation companies and key provider of energy solutions in a complex arbitration against another major oil and gas company over a multi-tiered gas supply agreement.
  • Advised on a dispute between two commodities companies with operations based in both the People’s Republic of China and Singapore, over time-sensitive sale and purchase agreements.
  • Advised on employee issues such as workplace harassment, whistle-blowing, restraint of trade, fraudulent misconduct and regulatory compliance.
  • Advised creditors in large-scale insolvencies like OW Bunkers, Hanjin Shipping, and Swiber.
  • Advised companies and international trade associations on compliance issues, corporate governance and representations to enforcement agencies.
  • Advised an SGX-listed construction company against adjudication claim (and other related issues) under the Security of Payment of Act.
  • Advised on various construction contracts, consultancy agreements, design and supply contracts for underground district cooling systems relating to the one-north developments such as the Fusionopolis, Biopolis and the Jurong Rock Caverns.
