Sivah graduated from the Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Laws (Cum Laude) in 2017 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2018.

Sivah’s contentious practice focuses on arbitration & mediation, commercial & corporate litigation, restructuring & insolvency, and shipping & admiralty law.

In addition to contentious work, Sivah also assists in non-contentious matters. Prior to joining the firm, Sivah assisted on matters concerning ship financing and the sale and purchase of ships. He also regularly advised clients on cross-border commercial contracts, and on their exposure under loan facilities offered by institutional banks.

• Represented and advised a group of ship-owning companies valued at close to US$2 billion when several mortgagee banks took steps to enforce their security over the mortgaged ships.
• Assisted in drafting written submissions and conducted research for a successful appeal to the Singapore Court of Appeal concerning five oil rigs worth US$1.2 billion: Oro Negro Drilling Pte Ltd & Ors v Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro SAPI de CV & Ors [2020] 1 SLR 226 (CA).
• Assisted in research and drafting submissions to the Court of Appeal concerning the enforceability of loan agreements worth US$8.6 million for a liquified natural gas project.
• As lead counsel, successfully argued and obtained a summary judgment in the Singapore High Court for the repayment of S$3.7 million under a loan facility agreement, and was commended by the Assistant Registrar for his written and oral advocacy.
• Acted for a voyage charterer in a SIAC arbitration and substantially reduced a ship owner’s straightforward demurrage claim by over one-third.
